Which Figma links work?

Two kinds. The deck link from the Share dialog (figma.com/deck/{key}/...) is the one to prefer. The editor link from your browser's address bar while you are editing (figma.com/slides/{key}/...) works too — pitch2pdf opens the deck view of the same file. The title after the key and any parameters such as node-id are optional, so a bare figma.com/deck/{key} link converts just the same.

Do I need a Figma account, or does the deck need to be public?

You do not need a Figma account, but the deck has to be shared with "Anyone with the link" set to "can view". Open the deck, click Share, and check the access setting at the bottom of the dialog. A deck restricted to specific people or to a team looks identical to a deleted or mistyped link when a visitor opens it — a sign-in wall — so pitch2pdf reports that the deck is private or doesn't exist and asks you to check its sharing.

Does this work with password-protected Figma Slides decks?

Yes. If the share link is protected with a password, enter it in the password field before clicking Convert. The password is sent directly to Figma to open the deck and is never stored by pitch2pdf. Password protection is a setting on the share link, so the deck still needs to be shared with "Anyone with the link".

What happens to slide animations?

Objects that appear step by step — Figma calls them builds — are captured in their final state, so each slide becomes one PDF page with every element visible. pitch2pdf waits for each slide to finish drawing before it takes the page, which is also why decks with many animated slides take a little longer.

Why doesn't my figma.com/design/ or figma.com/proto/ link work?

Those links open a design file, a prototype, a FigJam board, or a Figma Make app rather than a Slides deck — figma.com/design/..., /file/..., /proto/..., /board/... and /make/... are all different file types. pitch2pdf converts only Figma Slides decks, so it reports that the link is not a deck. Open the presentation in Figma Slides, click Share, and copy the deck link instead; it starts with figma.com/deck/.

Why does a Figma Slides conversion take longer than a Google Slides one?

Figma draws each slide in the browser rather than serving the deck as a file, so pitch2pdf has to open the deck and wait for every slide to finish rendering before it captures it.
